CHS redeemed HiiliPlus+ climate units for a total of 47 tCO₂e, which correspond to the emissions of 2024. The units have been produced in Finland in projects that strengthen the carbon sequestration capacity of forests and support Finland's goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2035.
Green Carbon The CarbonPlus+ projects comply with the ISO 14064-2 standard, and their implementation and reporting have been verified by the independent auditor DNV GL.
Locations of the projects in Finland: Kangasniemi, Mäntyharju (South Savo); Lieksa, Valtimo (North Karelia); Liminka, Utajärvi (North Ostrobothnia).
CHS moved to new premises and significantly reduced its CO₂ emissions
In addition to offsetting, CHS has been actively reducing its own emissions.
In March 2024, CHS moved its head office to new, modern premises in Colony Airport Vantaa. The building is LEED Platinum certified and widely complies with ESG standards. It uses geothermal energy and solar panels, and its energy efficiency is class A.
CHS's own office space has been renovated with ecological materials, taking into account the comfort and ergonomics of the staff. In addition, the new location of the head office offers better public transport connections, which enables more environmentally friendly commuting.
Thanks to various measures that have reduced carbon dioxide emissions, CHS has achieved a significant reduction in emissions—from 79 tons down to 47 tons of CO₂e.
