On 2 December 2021, Finnish Association of Purchasing and Logistics LOGY and Lahti Region Development LADEC organized a high-level seminar in the field of logistics at Lahti Sibelius Hall, the topic was sustainability and responsibility in logistics

Eberhard Jolly, Manager of the Special Service Team at CHS Group, gave a joint speech with Elina Laine, Responsibility Manager of the Finnish Olympic Committee. The seminar brought together a large number of logistics professionals and our speech was received with great interest.

Olympic freight

In our presentation, we pointed out the important and special features of Olympic cargo (for example: four Olympics with one container) and the close co-operation together with both our partners: the Finnish Olympic Committee and the Finnish Paralympic Committee.

Responsibility is more than just freight

In addition to sustainable logistics, we feel that responsibility is more than just freight, and we also highlighted this in our presentation with the Wethe15 -campaign info. WeThe15 -campaign is a global human rights movement which aims to make persons with disabilities, who make up 15% of the world's population, visible. Campaign is an initiative of the International Paralympic Committee and the International Disability Alliance. It was launched as part of the Summer Paralympics in 2021.

Michelle Bachelet, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, said: “WeThe15 is bringing together a unique group of partners – disability-specific sports organisations, the disability rights movement, people from the private sector, researchers and the United Nations – to work together to change the narrative on disability, and to make human rights-based development a reality for persons with disabilities.

On the launch day of the #wethe15, CHS Group's personnel wore purple all over Finland, according to the theme of the campaign.

Although the WeThe15 campaign was launched under the Tokyo Summer Paralympics, it is not just a campaign linked to the Tokyo Games. The vision of the International Paralympic Committee IPC is that the campaign will last a decade.
