Ponsse Oyj is a Finnish forest machine manufacturer with deep roots in the forests of Vieremä. The company designs, manufactures and services cut-to-length forest machines, and its products are used in forestry operations all over the world. "Without a functioning spare parts network, machines cannot be used productively in the long term. That is why we have invested in our service and spare parts network so that we can be reached by our customers wherever they need us," says Honkanen.

Tapio Honkanen:
“We still purchase the same services as at the start of our collaboration: machine and spare part shipments by sea freight, as well as spare parts by air freight. It’s also important for us that CHS offers a wide range of services – including project transport to our key markets in addition to sea and air freight. Their flexible service and dedicated team make our cooperation smooth.”

One of the cornerstones of Ponsse and CHS’s cooperation is open and regular communication. CHS always provides its corporate customers with dedicated contact persons – a model that has proven valuable for Ponsse as well. The Finnish ownership of CHS adds further value to the partnership.
"Communication has been good and active. We regularly review market situations and feedback. The discussion is open and productive. In addition
having Finnish service at the point of origin is important to us – it makes communication and operations smoother,” says Honkanen.

Sustainability is a key part of Ponsse’s business, and CHS supports this work with substantial services.
“We report our own supply chain CO₂ emissions and strive to reduce them. CHS’s CO₂ reporting and fossil-free sea freight options support our goals for developing responsible business,” Honkanen explains.
