Olympic cargo on the way to the competition villages

CHS Air & Sea has been the logistics partner of the Finnish Olympic and Paralympic Committee since the 2016 Rio Games. The upcoming Paris Games are already at the door and the Olympic cargo is on its way to the competition villages of Paris and Marseille.

In the world's largest sports event, the functionality of logistics plays an important role.

Even though the Olympics and Paralympics will be held in Europe this time, the preparations for the cargo units started well in advance at the beginning of the year. Everything must be carefully planned in accordance with strict safety regulations and competition schedules.

With cooperation from the starting line to the finish line

The goods of the Finnish teams going to the competition villages in Paris and Marseille were first collected at Sporttitalo and the CHS warehouse. When the departure date of the cargo approached, all the goods were delivered to the CHS warehouse, where they were protected and carefully packed for the journey.

Goods and equipment move responsibly in the joint container of the Finnish Olympic Committee and the Finnish Paralympic Committee. The sailors' competition village is in the south of France in Marseille, where there is a separate CHS road freight transport.

As a Finnish company, CHS makes sure that the cargoes arrive on time and safely in the competition villages, and that the foodstuffs move with their temperature-controlled special transport.

The cargo includes many products from partners of the Finnish Olympic Committee and the Finnish Paralympic Committee.

E.g. gym equipment, cold pool, treadmill, healthcare supplies, physio equipment, cold gels, air purifiers, bicycles, televisions, garden furniture, towels, pillows, decorative items, Finnish flags, cardboard reindeer, ping-pong table, tools, hand sanitizer, face masks, food supplies, energy bars, and for example various games and activities for athletes .

Now, the Finnish team's container is in Paris at Gennevilliers harbor, waiting for security inspection and transfer to the competition village.

The Paris Olympics start on July 23 and the Paralympics on August 28, 2024.
