Chinese New Year - anticipate schedules

The Chinese New Year begins on February 9, 2024, when the year of the dragon starts. Chinese New Year is one of the most important celebrations in China and the celebration lasts for 15 days, so it is good to take this into account when planning transportations.

It is good to note that preparations for the Chinese New Year start well in advance several weeks earlier, already in January. Because of this, factories slow down their operations and people move to their hometowns to prepare for celebrations.

The festival is celebrated in several East Asian countries, such as China, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and South Korea. The festivities end with the Lantern Festival on February 24. Celebrating the Chinese New Year significantly delays the movement of goods, as offices and ports are mostly closed.

By planning ahead, you avoid unnecessary delays. In more urgent cases, we can also offer air freight as an alternative.
