The Chinese New Year begins on February 9, 2024, when the year of the dragon starts. Chinese New Year is one of the most important celebrations in China and the celebration lasts for 15 days, so it is good to take this into account when planning transportations.

The Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions SAK and its member unions have announced that they will carry out several industrial strikes on Thursday 14 December 2023. The strikes have significant effects on Finland's foreign trade and cargo transportation.

Finland's 106th year of independence is celebrated on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. CHS Group's offices and customer service are closed due to our public holiday. On Thursday 7.12.23 we are open again as usual.

The EU Parliament has ordered that from 2024 shipping companies will be part of the Emission Trading Systems (ETS).
The goal is to combat climate change by reducing greenhouse emissions by at least 55 percent by 2030, the long-term goal is zero emissions by 2050.

At its autumn meeting held on Wednesday 25 October 2023 in Helsinki, the Finnish Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association (FIFFLA) elected a new board for 2024.
