The transport container of the Finnish Olympic and Paralympic teams that recently returned from Paris has now been unpacked, and the goods have been responsibly sorted for recycling, reuse and storage for future competitions. CHS, which is responsible for logistics and forwarding, has played a key role in enabling environmentally friendly and efficient transport solutions that are in line with the sustainable development goals of Finnish sports.
CHS implemented a significant logistics project in which 14 shipping containers full of goods were transported from China to Finland for the Halloween Park event. The delivery schedules were extremely tight, and all containers had to reach Helsinki on time so that the event could proceed as planned.
The union representing tens of thousands of dockworkers across the US (ILA) has agreed to suspend its strike while negotiations continue.
The strike that has shut down half of US East Coast and Gulf of Mexico ports began at midnight on October 1, 2024.
The ILA (International Longshoreman Association) contract expires 30.9.2024. Since there have been no negotiations since June, it seems likely that a strike will happen. When possible strikes come into effect, they will significantly affect supply chains and cause delays for goods passing through the East- and Gulf coast ports.
