After the containers arrived in Helsinki, CHS also took care of their transportation from the port to the customer's warehouse, where the goods were stored to await the event's construction schedule.
The project was led by Merja Laiho, director of CHS' sea freight business, whose extensive experience and expertise guaranteed the smooth progress of the project. Merja and her team kept the deliveries on schedule and took care of the necessary paperwork and customs clearance, allowing the customer to focus on organizing the event without logistical worries.
Event organizer Heikki Kouvo thanked Merja and CHS for the friendly and excellent service.
Heikki Kouvo: "I want to thank Merja and CHS for their excellent cooperation and customer service. Every request and question were met with a quick and professional response, making the collaboration smooth and enjoyable. Professional help plays a big role in such a project."

The cooperation continues
Our collaboration with the event organizer does not end here, as CHS will also manage the logistics for the Valo event starting in January.Event organizer Heikki Kouvo is already looking toward the new year, when stunning moving light installations will illuminate the manor’s surroundings. The Valo event promises a beautiful experience, bringing light and vibrancy to the dark Finnish January.

On time, despite the port's congestion
There are always several factors in the logistics chain that can affect schedules and the smoothness of deliveries. When planning and implementing transports, it is important to be aware of these challenges and prepare for them in advance.
In this project, we faced two challenges: a shortage of containers in the country of origin and a congested situation in European ports. These factors slightly extended the original delivery times.
Merja Laiho"Timely communication and proactive planning helped to navigate through the congested ports and ensure that the containers were sent as quickly as possible. It's great to note that everything went well, and the goods arrived at the customer on time. This highlights how important it is to have a flexible and competent team which can react to changing conditions. We respect our customers and do everything we can to meet their needs on schedule, despite the challenges of the logistics chain."

Halloween Park - A family experience

The Halloween Park at Helsinki's Puotila manor is currently open to the public and offers a fantastic experience with Halloween-themed decorations and light installations every day until November 3, 2024. It's perfect for the whole family - without the scary elements.
In the one-hectare park, visitors can enjoy pumpkin lanterns, hay bales and impressive Halloween installations. New attractions this year are the giant pumpkin tower and the pumpkin house.
